  • When you create a database and username, a prefix_ unique to your web hosting account is automatically prepended to the values you enter. You need to include this prefix when making a note of your database credentials to use when installing Studio Producer CDS. For example, if your database name is 'mycds' and your unique prefix is 'somewebs_' then the value to use when installing Studio Producer CDS will be 'somewebs_mycds'. This applies to database name and username values only only. See the screenshot in Step 1 for an example.
  • Step 1 - Creating the Database.
  • To begin, you need to create a Database.
  • Step 2 - Create User and Password for the Database.
  • Enter a username and password in the fields as shown.
  • Step 3 - Grant the user 'All Privileges'.
  • Grant the user 'All Privileges' by ticking the box.

  • Please be patient as System Backups can take around 10 minutes to complete.
  • Whilst performing a backup, certain functionality becomes locked down until the process has completed. This is to protect the integrity of your CDS while the process is running and to prevent conflicting user actions. For example, it is not possible to run a System Update whilst a Sys Backup is in operation.
  • Please see our video tutorial 22 - Codameno Studio Producer CDS - Performing Backups to see how this is done.
Database Backups
  • System Database Backup - Snapshot a backup of your CDS's database.
  • Most recent 3 backups are kept for convenience.

System Roadmap
Generating a Podcast Feed
  • A podcast generator is built into Studio Producer CDS.
  • The podcast is generated exclusively on mixtape content as they are feature length.
  • The podcast XML feed generated is available at mycds.com/podcasts. This link is available from the front-end main menu of your CDS for your visitors to see.
  • Once you have submitted your podcast to iTunes, enter the URL of your podcast into your SYS SETTINGS. The iTunes link will take precedence over the standard xml feed and will link to your front-end main menu button. The standard xml podcast feed will still be available to use directly but the iTunes URL will be the feed advertised.
  • Go to PODCAST from your admin console main menu. Add Podcast artwork, description, etc. and save.
  • The podcast generator is designed to advertise your episodes as 'new' episodes so as to encourage people to listen. As such the dates generated for your episodes will be chronologically listed in reverse order, from the current date.
  • Please see our video tutorial 18 - Codameno Studio Producer CDS - Setting up the Automated Podcast Generator to see how this is done.
Publishing a Podcast Feed to iTunes
  • Sign in to iTunes Podcast Connect.
  • Click the at the top left of the iTunes Connect dashboard.
  • Enter your RSS feed into the provided text box and then click the "Validate" button.
  • A Feed Preview will load if you do not have any validation errors. Please take a moment and review your podcast artwork, description, general information (e.g. description, categories, etc), and episodes.
  • If everything within the Feed Preview is correct, click the "Submit" button.
  • Your podcast is now submitted to the iTunes Store podcast directory.
  • Please see our video tutorial 19 - Codameno Studio Producer CDS - Submitting your Podcast to iTunes to see how this is done.
System RBL Blacklist Monitor
  • To give the best possible chance to your emails being delivered, run an RBL scan regularly and before any email campaigns.
  • The RBL Blacklist Monitor is a tool that allows you to check the reputation of your host server against 70+ DNS blacklist monitors around the world.
  • A scan man be run manually at any time.
  • A scan can take a few minutes. Please be patient.
  • A Pie chart showing the positive / negative results of the scan is detailed within the results.
  • A Line graph plotting a trend of results over time is detailed within the results.
  • For every record found, an email requesting removal is sent to your web host and to your primary administrator. Please ensure you have entered your web host technical support desk email address in SYS SETTINGS.
  • A table summarising the results of the last five scans are available (even if no blacklisted results found).
  • A table summarising the results of the last 10 positive (blacklisted) results found.
  • A CRON JOB may be set up to run a scan automatically in the background once a week (see CRON Jobs section below).
  • Please see our video tutorial 28 - Codameno Studio Producer CDS - Setting Up The Automated Weekly RBL Background Scan Cron Job to see how this is done.
  • Please see our video tutorial 12 - Codameno Studio Producer CDS - Running an RBL Scan to see how this is done.
CRON Jobs
  • Studio Producer CDS requires 3 CRON Jobs to be set up to run in its entirety.
  • The first CRON Job is for the RBL Blacklist Monitor for an automatic weekly background scan.
  • Set up the RBL Blacklist monitor CRON Job as 0 / 0 / * / * / 0 with the command /usr/bin/curl -s http://mycds.com/inc/ajax/sys_rbl.php
  • Remember to replace mycds.com with your domain. i.e. mywebsite.com
  • If you are running on an SSL you will need to replace http with https in the command.
  • The second CRON Job is for the Recommended Radio Show social media status updates that are posted automatically to Twitter and Facebook each day advertising the radios shows.
  • Set up the Radio Show CRON Job as 6 / * / * / * / * with the command /usr/bin/curl -s http://mycds.com/inc/ajax/sys_radio_daily.php
  • Set up the Social Customs CRON Job as 59 / * / * / * / * with the command /usr/bin/curl -s http://mycds.com/inc/ajax/sys_social_customs.php
  • Remember to replace mycds.com with your domain. i.e. mywebsite.com

  • Please see our video tutorial 27 - Codameno Studio Producer CDS - Setting up Studio Producer CDS Daily Radio Schedule Cron Job to see how this is done.
  • Note: The settings used in the video tutorial 27 are for an old version of Studio Producer CDS. Please set up your version of Studio Producer CDS with the Radio Shows and Social Customs settings stated above in these instructions (once per hour). The RBL CRON Job only needs to run once per week.
Converting Audio to .ogg Format
  • Studio Producer CDS requires .ogg audio files as well as .mp3 audio files for content previews. This is to ensure compatibility across all browsers.
  • As much as we would love to offer the facility to convert the audio server side, most hosting companies will not permit the required as converting audio consumes a substantial amount of the servers resources. For this reason, the .ogg files required by some browsers need to be uploaded in addition to .mp3 files used for previewing content.
  • We recommend Media Human Audio Converter (freeware) for OSX and Windows.
  • We recommend Musixxi Converter for Android.
Adding DJ Mixtape Content
  • Navigate to Add Content in your CDS administration console.
  • Choose Mixtape as your content type when prompt.
  • Upload a .mp3 file and a .ogg file as audio clips for your mixtape when prompted. These are the files used to generate preview clips.
  • Add a .mp3 file or a .wav file as your master file for your mixtape when prompted. This is the file visitors download.
  • Add more information about your mixtape, including setting its Live status, uploading artwork, text descriptions and meta data.
  • Please see our video tutorial 16 - Codameno Studio Producer CDS - Uploading a Mixtape to see how this is done.
Adding Standard Promo Content (Free to Download)
  • Navigate to Add Content in your CDS administration console.
  • Choose Promo as your content type when prompt.
  • Upload a .mp3 file and a .ogg file as audio clips for your promo when prompted. These are the files used to generate preview clips.
  • Add a .mp3 file or a .wav file as your master file for your promo when prompted. This is the file visitors download.
  • If you have no plans to distribute an advance promo campaign you can choose to bypass the Upload Zip screen.
  • Add more information about your promo, including setting its Live status, uploading artwork, text descriptions and meta data.
  • Please see our video tutorial 03 - Codameno Studio Producer CDS Tutorial - Uploading a Promo and Sending to the DJs to see how this is done.
Adding Advanced Promo Content (Exclusive)

  • Add a .zip package containing your artwork, different mixes / audio formats and a readme.txt note.
  • Add more information about your promo, including setting its Live status, uploading artwork, text descriptions and meta data.
  • If you wish for the promo to only be available to your advanced promo list and not to display on the front end of your CDS to the general public, we recommend setting the release date well in to the future.
  • Please see our video tutorial Using Studio Producer CDS to send out the Aluna George / Todd Edwards promo to see how this is done.
Adding a Commercial Promo Release
  • A Commercial release is one where instead of delivering audio content directly to the visitor, they are instead redirected to a download store such as Juno, Stompy, or Beatport where they can purchase the music.
  • You may occasionally see Commercial releases referred to as 'Latest Releases' or simple 'Release' when reading documentation or using your CDS.
  • Navigate to Add Content in your CDS administration console.
  • Choose Release as your content type when prompt.
  • A Commercial Release doesn't have a master audio file, you only need to upload the .mp3 and .ogg clips when prompted.
  • Add more information about your release, including setting its Live status, uploading artwork, text descriptions and meta data.
Adding a Radio Show to the Recommended Radio Show Schedule
Adding a Facebook Live Stream or YouTube Video

System SSL
  • We highly recommend running your CDS on a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) connection. When a website is running on a SSL you will see the http:// change to https://in the browser address bar. SSL security certificates are inexpensive, starting from only a few dollars. They will need to be renewed annually, just like your web hosting. You can buy a security certificate directly from your web hosting provider. You will also need a static IP address if you do, which is around per/month. Again, this service can be purchased directly from your web hosting provider and renewed at the same frequency as your web hosting for your CDS.
  • Once your security certificate has been added to your account, turn SSL to 'ON' in SYS CONFIG.

Conceptually, its effect is similar to that of at a theatre when the lights go down and the curtains are opened. It gives the appearance of your CDS loading smoothly whilst drawing the users attention.
